Public security policies: fragments of a genocide
política de extermínio em ações policiais
Abstract
In view of the continuity and intensification of the genocidal policy of Brazilian public security, we analyze fragments of three cases: the death of the young black man Willian Augusto da Silva, the Jacarezinho massacre and the murder of the young black man Ryan Pablo da Silva Martins Ribeiro. Based on information collected in the news about these deaths, we reflect on common aspects that cross these cases, as well as some of their particularities, dialoguing with the concepts of black genocide and anti-blackness. Thus, we question the colonial heritage that serves as the basis for the maintenance of the Brazilian anti-black genocide and its intensification in the current scenario. This is the theoretical-methodological path we chose to follow to analyze the advance of genocidal barbarism against black communities, with the State as the main perpetrator.
