Abstract

The present article resulted from a community praxis developed in 2023 with professionals in the area of general services working at the Federal University of Maranhão, through which was sought to promote a listening space with these professionals, in order to contribute to their professional identity's development and strengthening, based on the discussion of problems that affect their daily lives. By performing a conversation circle, it was possible to learn a little about the perceptions, pains and expectations of these professionals, noting what some authors point out from their studies: situations of neglection, discrimination, lack of recognition and consequent psychological suffering in these workers. These issues, which are repeatedly silenced and validated, require institutional actions in order to confront these oppressive situations.
