Abstract

A theoretical review is proposed around the dimension of gender-related political socialization; and the notion of gender political socialization is postulated, specifically addressing children. It’s a theoretical study that makes a conceptual proposal based on the bibliographic review of the area. It’s concluded that gender socialization processes have their beginnings in childhood, awarding children different guidelines and conditioning their access to different opportunities, including political ones. Gender as a relational category makes social relationships visible, where the domain associated with the male gender becomes an expression of social inequality. Thus, children are placed in differentiated positions, while any sexual dissent is resisted and denied in childhood.
