Abstract

The present review of the book Psicologia favelada: Ensaios sobre a construção de uma perspectiva popular em psicologia is an effort to publicize the original ideas of the author Mariana Alves Gonçalves. We emphasize that the work brings, in a fruitful way, reflections and poignant questionings for the psychological practice. We make a correlation with the experience of a young slum-dweller researcher and her non-conformism with the research practices that permeate the slum space.

Raiane Barreto Teixeira Gonçalves Pereira, UFRJ

  Master's student in Psychology at the Graduate Program in Psychology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Postgraduate degree in Educational Psychology from Cândido Mendes University (UCAM). Graduated in Psychology from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
