Abstract

The main objective of the article is to present an analysis of the feeling of trust in Brazilian democratic institutions in the context of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus (Covid-19). The data presented were collected from July to November 2020 and made possible the analysis and theoretical articulation on the relationship between trust, legitimacy and obedience, considering the Brazilian context and the challenges inherent to facing the pandemic. The results indicate high levels of confidence in Brazilian Scientists, Brazilian Universities, Health Professionals and the Public Health System and lower levels of confidence in the Presidency of the Republic, National Congress, Legislative Assemblies and the Supreme Federal Court. It was possible to observe differences between the levels of trust by political-ideological approach (left, center and right).
