Comunidades Terapêuticas no Brasil: uma revisão de escopo entre 2001 e 2021

Authors

Abstract

The Therapeutic Communities (TCs) in Brazil had a remarkable expansion in the last 20 years. However, rights violations are recorded in these services, pointing to contradictions with the care model instituted from 2001 onwards. To map the scientific production on the assistance offered by Brazilian TCs, we carried out a scope review in bases: LILACS; INDEXPSI; BDENF; SCIELO; DOAJ; PUBMED; SCOPUS; Catalog of CAPES Theses and Red de Repositorios Latinoamericanos between 2001 and 2021. Results were grouped into categories: General Characteristics; Moral Treatment; Disciplinary Regime; TCs and the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform; Inspection and Adequacy; and Treatment Outcomes. The studies bring divergent findings, but describe characteristics of a care model that appears to be at the genesis of the problems already recorded.
