Abstract

The subject of this analisys is a political situation, that combines a crisis of representation with acute processes of polarization. The starting point of this reflection will be historical and dialectical materialism, highlighting the economic dimension as a fundamental element for understanding permanent class interests and conflicts. But the psychopolitical dimension has equally importante to think about daily's situation. In this sense, we focus on some concepts that directly dialogue with Salvador Sandoval's model, such as political effectiveness, beliefs and societal values, also including other concepts, such as political cynicism. We will conclude with a reflection on how these elements operate in the current situation and manifest themselves in indifference and hatred towards democracy, but also in the processes of political resistance and contestation of order. To conclude, we remember how important it is to be inspired by Sandoval's open and democratic spirit so that we can achieve a critical reading of reality.
