Escolarização de piauienses cegos: memórias sociais e lutas por direitos educacionais
Abstract
The research aimed to analyze the search for rights of blind people in the formal education system in Piauí, as well as to know, from their school trajectories, the influencing elements for their insertion in the world of work. It was carried out through the methodology of oral history, through interviews about the schooling trajectories of 10 blind people who experienced Basic Education in the state of Piauí. The interviews were explored through Content Analysis, and analyzed under the critical perspective of School Psychology. The results reveal that there was a need to fight for school rights, from the denial of enrollments to the teaching-learning process with discriminatory and excluding practices. Such difficulties influenced their life projects after Basic Education. There was a need to strengthen the political identity of these people, as well as greater communication between their educational demands, with legislative power, and public policies for school inclusion.
