Abstract

This article aims to bring contributions to Psychology professionals and students who seek to become bilingual in Portuguese / Brazilian Sign Language. Based on the narrative of the experiences of the two authors, we raised the points that we understand as the main points for working with the deaf signaling or bilingual community. We bet on the power of encounter with difference to work with deaf people, in the search for the construction of a common world. Our narratives come to this article not as anecdotes, but as singular stories that can connect with other stories, and in this movement the personal becomes political. We hope, with this, that professionals or future professionals of bilingual psychology can feel inspired and less lonely in their training and performance processes.
