O cuidado na Perspectiva de familiares de pessoas com deficiência: revisão integrativa

Abstract

This integrative review aims to understand how family caregivers think about caring for people with disabilities.The search for the studies was carried out in the databases Scopus, Web of Science, PsycInfo, INDEXPSI; LILACS, SciELO.The period of time that comprises the last ten years of research has been stipulated (2010-2020). After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 19 articles were selected. Data analysis was categorized into five major themes: (a)Care and its emotional, psychological, physical, behavioral and social implications; (b) Care as solitude; (c) Care and its practical demands; (d) Care and coping strategies; (e) Disability care and representation.The results showed that care is understood according to the culture and beliefs about the disability, in addition to causing implications of different orders for family caregivers, such as discrimination, anxiety, depression, loneliness and  financial difficulties.
