This critical literature review aims to analyze the impasses of the third sector for the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) and its workers. This narrative review selected, synthesized, and analyzed bibliographic materials linked to the guiding question. After processing the information, the text was divided into three sections to (1) situate readers in the context of the implementation of SUAS; (2) explain the origin and characteristics of the third sector today; and (3) debate the impasses of the third sector for SUAS and its workers.
