The process of griefis extremely complex, especially when it is related to the loss of a child. This paper aims to identify the main feelings andsocial factors that may influence during the elaboration of anticipatory maternal grief. An integrative review was conductedby consulting the virtual databases: Virtual Health Library (Bvs) Scielo and Pepsic. After applying the pre-established inclusion and exclusion criteria, 5 articles remained for analysis. The results indicate that the main feelings aroused during the elaboration of maternal grief were the sadness (n= 4), guilt and frustration (n= 3). It was also found that the support of the family and the multi-professional hospital team are the main social factors associated with the elaboration of maternal grief.
