Abstract

The growing presence of information and communication technologies (ICTs) has reconfigured academic work in several levels, particularly in graduate programs. This study investigated the psychometric properties of the Attitudes Toward Information and Communication Technologies Scale (EATIC) adapted to the Brazilian context, with the aim of supporting faculty training and qualification policies in higher education. Factor analyses were conducted to examine the internal structure of the scale, as well as item calibration using Item Response Theory. The sample comprised 1,374 faculty members from various fields and institutions. Results indicated a two-factor structure—Positive Attitudes and Negative Attitudes toward ICTs—with good fit indices, high internal consistency, and adequate item parameters. The Brazilian version of the EATIC provides a valid and reliable measure to support research and interventions focused on faculty engagement, and professional development through the lens of Work and Organizational Psychology.
