Abstract

The organizational culture of hospitals faces challenges that justify the presence of organizational psychologists to manage the environment. In this context, a psychoeducational activity was carried out with healthcare and administrative staff at a reference hospital in Recife, with the presentation of a group intervention model focused on the promotion and prevention of mental health, in reference to Yellow September. Seventy-five staff members participated, organized into ten groups from different sectors, such as wards, ICU, reception, security, and management. The discussions highlighted demands related to mental health, training, and human resources. Anxiety, depression, stress, domestic violence, sleep disorders, and eating disorders were issues mentioned in seven groups. In addition, concerns arose about self-medication and alcohol consumption, revealing doubts about the regular use of this substance. The activity reinforced the importance of interventions outside mental health in the hospital context.

Keywords: mental health, occupational stress, organizational culture.
