Abstract

Emotional perception is presented as one of the abilities in emotional intelligence. The Computerized Test of Primary Emotions Perception was built with the purpose of evaluating this construct, and the present study aimed to study its psychometric properties, specifically its factorial structure, indices of fit, reliability and DIF. Participants were 924 people who responded the test. Solutions of 1, 3, and 5 factors were studied. For each solution, scores were created based on factor loadings and also using the Rasch model. Reliability indices were calculated using Cronbach’s alpha, Rasch and test-retest in a subsample of 34 persons. The analyses indicated the suitability of 1 and 3 factors structures. The article discusses the results in detail.
