  • The article is formatted according to APA standards (latest edition).
  • Author identification in Word file(s) properties has been removed.
  • If the manuscript is accepted, there will be a publication fee of R$600, and SBPOT members - who are the first or second authors of the articles - will receive a 50% discount on this amount.
  • The manuscript is typed in Word for Windows 6.0 or higher.
  • The manuscript uses 1.5 spacing throughout. The font used throughout the text is Times New Roman, size 12, justified alignment, page layout is A4, with all margins being 2.5 cm.

Author Guidelines

Please Note!

Before proceeding to read these instructions, be sure to consult the sections indicated by the following links, which are also part of the Guidelines for Authors.

Submission of manuscripts

The rPOT accepts articles in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish, but assumes the cost of revision only for articles in Portuguese. Therefore, articles in other languages require an even more detailed review by the authors before sending the final version for publication.

The journal adopts, in full, the APA rules of style (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th edition, Artmed, 2012).

Authors can refer to the APA Style website <https://apastyle.apa.or/> as well as the APA Style Blog for information on aspects of standard.

The manuscript, in its entirety, should not exceed the maximum number of pages stipulated for the type of contribution (see the section "Contributions accepted and their basic structure"), including all text elements (references, figures, tables, drawings, etc.). The Title Page is considered as page 1. The page number should be set alone in the upper right corner.

The manuscript should be prepared in word processor format using Word for Windows 6.0 or higher. Double spacing, Times New Roman, size 12, should be used throughout the text, not exceeding, in any circumstances, the number of pages specified above. The page setup must be A4, with all margins 2.5 cm and a left indent.

The Title Page must contain, solely and exclusively, the following information, all centered on the page:

  1.    Full title in Portuguese, between 10 and 12 words
  2.    Suggested running head in Portuguese, not exceeding 5 words
  3.    Full titles in English and Spanish, comparable to the title in Portuguese
  4.    Suggested running heads in English and Spanish

Page 2 of the manuscript should contain the Resumo, which must be presented in a single paragraph, containing: a brief presentation of the problem; goals; method; main results; main implications. This must be limited to 150 words. Then provide three palavras-chaves. Immediately after the resumo, insert, without a page break the Abstract, an accurate translation of the resumo. At the end, provide three keywords.

After the Abstract, the Resumen should be presented, followed by three palabras claves. The keywords must be properly indexed in the BVS-PSI (VHL Psychology) or in other thesaurus systems such as MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) or APA, and have versions in the three languages.

After the Resumen page, the text itself should be presented. There is no need to write the word "Introduction". Tables, figures, and other macrotextual elements must be in the exact location defined by the authors, i.e., throughout the text. The References should follow the main text.

Every electronic reference must come with the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) or, in its absence, with the URL (Uniform Resource Locator). DOI wording should follow the standard recommended by CrossRef, which is: https://doi.org/10.000/000 (example), without the prefix "doi:" before. Authors can now submit DOI in hyperlink format.

References should come without specific formatting arising from the use of bibliographic management software.

Ethical aspects

All manuscripts submitted to the rPOT must be accompanied by an Ethics Declaration Letter signed by all authors. In that letter, which can be obtained here, authors must declare they have followed all principles of ethics and integrity involved in carrying out the research that led to the manuscript. In the case of theoretical papers or literature reviews, authors must guarantee that they followed all integrity measures for the use of the intellectual property of others (according to the letter that can be obtained here).

The rPOT adheres to the ethical principles postulated by the National Health Commission (CNS), through Resolution 466/12, with respect to scientific research on human beings, and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

It is the responsibility of the authors

  • To present a list of references at the end of the manuscript;
  • To report financial support (if applicable);
  • To ensure that the manuscript submitted for publication is not submitted or published in any other communication vehicle;
  • To ensure that the data presented in the submitted manuscript are not redundant or similar to previous publications by the authors themselves;
  • To declare that all authors of the manuscript actively participated in the process of developing the manuscript, contributing significantly to the research;
  • To ensure agreement of all authors on the final version of the manuscript prior to submission;
  • To ensure that the data are real, and that there is no sort of plagiarism in the manuscript;
  • To alert the journal immediately in the case of errors or inaccuracies discovered in the work during the evaluation process and / or after its publication;
  • To guarantee that all ethical principles recommended by the National Health Commission (CNS) resolution 196/96 and by the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) have been met.

Manuscripts that are, according to the rPOT Editorial Board, evaluated as violating ethical principles will be summarily rejected, and the author barred from submitting new manuscripts to the journal. For this reason, it is recommended that, when writing his/her text, the author make available, if applicable, the following information: ethical criteria involved in the invitation of participants; procedures for open participation in the study; ethical procedures for information handling and integrity thereof; among other aspects recommended by the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA 6th. Edition), by the National Health Commission (CNS), via Resolution 466/12, and by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), to whose principles the rPOT adheres (http://publicationethics.org/).

Empirical Research Reports

Sections:

i) introduction (research problem, objective(s) of the work, theoretical-conceptual basis, hypotheses and/or guiding questions); ii) method (design, participants, instrument(s), data collection procedures and ethical concerns, data analysis procedures); iii) results (consistent with its objective(s), hypotheses/guiding questions); iv) discussion (including conclusion, strengths and limitations, suggestions for further studies, theoretical and practical implications). In the case of multiple studies, the method should include the subdivisions of each study, covering all necessary subsections. We recommend striking a balance between classic and current references from the last five years. If you need to extend the page count beyond 30 pages, please provide a compelling argument in a letter to the editors.

Literature Reviews

Literature reviews and meta-analyses. Syntheses of a broad and pertinent set of productions available in the scientific literature of the area with a critical evaluation of the knowledge already published.
Sections: i) introduction (problem, justification/relevance of conducting the study; objective(s)); ii) method (type of review, indication of protocol followed, procedures for inclusion and exclusion of studies, description of search engines and period of coverage of searches, collection and analysis procedures; results); iii) discussion (including conclusion; strengths and limitations, suggestion of new studies, theoretical, methodological, and practical implications). We recommend striking a balance between classic and current references from the last five years. If you need to extend the page count beyond 30 pages, please provide a compelling argument in a letter to the editors.

Theoretical Essays

Theoretical Essays:

These are papers based on current scientific literature to propose relevant theoretical advances for the area, discussing the resulting scientific and practical implications. Authors are expected to critically analyze the theory(ies), indicating their contributions, weaknesses, and possible refinements. We recommend striking a balance between classical and current references from the last five years. If you need to exceed the limit of 30 pages, please provide a letter to the editors to explain why.

Methodological Articles:

These are the presentations of new methodological approaches, modifications of existing methods, or discussions on data analysis approaches for the scientific community. The use of empirical data, in this case, serves solely as an illustration of the data analysis technique. We recommend striking a balance between classical and current references from the last five years. If you need to exceed the limit of 30 pages, please provide a letter to the editors to explain why.

Reviews

They should refer to critical reviews of recent national or international works (last two years), guiding the reader as to their characteristics and potential uses. Film reviews will also be accepted. They should go beyond the mere summary of the chapters (or the film), making a critical assessment of the work, pointing out the possible contributions to the field of Organizational and Work Psychology. Limited to 10 pages.

Professional Experience Reports

Report of interventions with evidence of social impact, describing innovative methods or techniques and objective evaluation of the results of the experience. Sections: i) introduction (presentation of the experience, description of contextual aspects, justifications, and relevance to the area of POT); ii) method (stages of implementation of the experience, description of intervention procedures or strategies, instruments or tools used, and procedures for analyzing results); iii) results/discussion (including beneficiaries and social impact), with coherent and logical subtitles that may be adopted, containing the analysis of the implications of the experience and its contributions to the performance and advancement of knowledge in Organizational and Work Psychology. We recommend striking a balance between classic and current references from the last five years. If you need to extend the page count beyond 30 pages, please provide a compelling argument in a letter to the editors.

Debates

At the invitation of the rPOT, this method aims to promote dialogue and debate on current issues and topics of interest for the Psychology of Organizations and Work. The section consists of three different and complementary parts, written by authors invited by the rPOT. The invited authors include those known to adopt a favorable position on the guiding theme, others who hold a contrary position, and a third who plays the role of moderator. Limited to 7-10 pages.
