Husserlian meditations on Phenomenological Psychology, writings from 1925, paragraphs 5 and 6 – implications for humanistic psychotherapeutic approaches.

Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate the need for further research into Phenomenological Psychology, in light of the philosophical reflections of Edmund Husserl who in 1925, delivering his summer lessons, presented the historical demands and structuring conditions for the construction of a rigorous psychology, overcoming naturalistic and positive psychology. Historically, humanist approaches, in particular Gestalt-Therapy and Person-Centered Approach, deepen and update their legacies under the sign of phenomenological parameters, most of the time in a precarious way due to the difficulty in reaching the Husserlian writings that have recently started to be published. in Portuguese in Brazil. The reflections of Edmund Husserl, the work Psychologie Phénoménologique (1925-1928), and productions of the humanist movements related to psychotherapy were used as a basic text. It is hoped that we can more precisely delimit how many and what are the similarities and differences between humanistic psychotherapeutic approaches, in relation to Edmund Husserl's phenomenological method.
