Integrative Review on Technostress at Work: Individual and Organizational Factors, and Consequences
Abstract
Technostress is an effect caused by the constant use of digital technologies. The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the number of workers in remote work performed at home. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify and systematize the scientific production on individual and organizational factors associated with the development of technostress, and the consequences for workers, through an integrative literature review. Scopus, Scielo, Web of Science, PubMed, Psycinfo, and Portal Capes databases were searched from January 2010 to December 2021. The descriptors used for the search were “technostress” and “tecnoestresse”. Thirty-nine publications were selected. The themes found were organizational factors that cause technostress, individual factors that favor technostress, and consequences of technostress for workers’ health.
Keywords: digital technologies, mental health, technostress, review.
