This scoping review maps the literature on remote work leadership over the last ten years, seeking to understand this phenomenon more broadly by examining methodological, theoretical and empirical aspects. The search was based on the PRISMA guidelines and conducted in the PsychINFO, Web of Science, Scopus and LILACS databases, with 25 studies included out of the 953 mapped. Methodologically, there was a prevalence of cross-sectional quantitative studies using self-report instruments. The main variables under investigation were leadership styles, e-leadership, remote management and self-leadership. Conceptually, e-leadership was the main theoretical reference, although few studies defined remote leadership. This review contributes to Work and Organizational Psychology by identifying gaps in the field, such as the need for longitudinal research in understudied regions and models that consider the influence of virtuality.
