Adaptive Performance Scale: Adaptation and Validity Evidence with Software Engineers
Keywords:

Work environments, especially those involving intensive knowledge and innovation, are characterized by some structures, complexity, uncertainty and changes, requiring that individuals adapt to new circumstances in
order to maintain satisfactory performance. This paper presents the process of translation, adaptation, and analysis of validity evidence of an adaptive performance scale. The scale consists of 19 items organized into five dimensions. The sample is composed by 453 professionals that work in software development companies in Brazil. The original conceptual model was used to evaluate the adapted scale using the Confirmatory
Factor Analysis technique. The results showed a good model fit, confirming the factor structure of the construct. The paper opens
the possibility of carrying out new studies on adaptive performance, as well as contributing to the dissemination of the theme in Brazil.
Keywords: adaptability, measuring instrument, changes at work, scale adaptation.
